Jeffries claimed, according to a report from the Washington Examiner, that, “House Democrats believe that we are not sent to Washington to invade Greenland, rename the Gulf of Mexico, or seize the Panama Canal by force.”
Those three options all have been discussed by Trump as he prepares to move into the White House and again work to enhance America’s security, and indeed, the security of the world.
The threat being addressed is China’s increasing influence over other nations through its various Belt and Road infrastructure investment plans, through which is routinely takes control of transportation routes and facilities by building the projects, and then running them.
Trump, in fact, has mentioned the concepts of America being in control of Greenland, and Canada joining the U.S., as various ways to enhance America’s security internationally. For example, a military base on Greenland would be only a short 2,000-mile flight from Moscow.
U.S. Rep. Dusty Johnson, R-S.D., said, “President Trump is right to consider repurchasing the Panama Canal. China’s interest in and presence around the canal is a cause for concern. America must project strength abroad – owning and operating the Panama Canal might be an important step towards a stronger America and a more secure globe.”
Johnson has introduced a bill that would empower Trump to negotiate over the canal management.
It also would have Trump report to Congress on the possible outcomes and ramifications.
Some Republicans long have objected to the agreement that provided Panama with supervision over the canal, as the U.S. built it and paid for it.
Panamanian officials said they own the canal … “every square meter.”

]]>It is because the organization censored from its website an article from Jerry Coyne, professor emeritus of ecology in Chicago, an atheist and a board member.
Coyne wrote “Biology is not bigotry” to critique an early column promoting transgenderism.
Coyne’s response was to point out to the FFRF, “The gender ideology which caused you take down my article is itself quasi-religious, having many aspects of religious and cults, including dogma, blasphemy, belief in what is palpably untrue (‘a women is whoever she says she is’), apostasy, and a tendence to ignore science when it contradicts a preferred ideology.”
Constitutional expert Jonathan Turley, the Shapiro professor of public interest law at George Washington University, has written about such contradictions in his book, “The Indispensable Right: Free Speech in an Age of Rage.”
And he said the censorship agenda at the FFRF came from “transgender activists” over Coyne’s simple explanation that human sex is “binary” and his work to separate the science from the “politics” of the transgender ideology, which has been promoted widely by Joe Biden.
His criticisms took aim at Kat Grant’s earlier claim that “A woman is whoever she says she is.”
Turley explained, “Coyne offered a view shared by many that ‘[i]n biology … a woman can be simply defined in four words: ‘An adult human female.’…Because some nonbinary people — or men who identify as women (‘transwomen’) — feel that their identity is not adequately recognized by biology, they choose to impose ideology onto biology and concoct a new definition of ‘woman.” While Coyne supports equal rights for transgender people, he argued that, as a scientist, ‘feelings don’t create reality.’”
One result was the resignations of biologist Richard Dawkins and Harvard Professor Steven Pinker in support of Coyne, Turley noted.
Even so, FFRF “caved into the pressure” and removed Coyne’s comments.
The essay now is appearing on “Reality’s Last Stand.”
In Pinker’s resignation note, he charged, the foundation “is no longer a defender of freedom from religion but the imposer of a new religion, complete with dogma, blasphemy, and heretics.”
Turley wrote, “The intolerance for opposing views is so great that the FFRF is willing to engage in atheist orthodoxy, which not long ago would have been viewed as a contradiction in terms. It is a disgraceful position for a group that once defended those banned or canceled for their views. It is a moment that reminds one of what Robert Oppenheimer said about physicists, but it is particularly poignant for these atheists who have joined a mob to silence: they ‘have known sin; and this is a knowledge which they cannot lose.’”
]]>For one, authorities report he had wanted to hurt his family but was concerned those actions to distract the media from what he considered more important: the battle between “believers & disbelievers,” a phrase adherents to Islam use to differentiate themselves from others.
But the suspect’s brother now has confirmed that while Shamsud Din Jabbar was “Christian” early in life, he had converted to Islam a long time ago.
Fox News notes that Abdur Jabbar, 24, was interviewed in Beaumont, Texas, “where he and Shamsud Din Jabbar, 42, grew up.”
He confirmed the “now-deceased suspect had converted to Islam,” and was a Muslim “for most of his life.”
However, the brother claimed that the violence inflicted by the 42-year-old did not “represent Islam.”
“This is more some type of radicalization, not religion,” he explained.
The report noted that a next-door neighbor to the Jabbar residence also said Shamsud Din Jabbar had been loading lightweight items in the white pickup truck he used for the attack on Tuesday.
“He said he spoke with Shamsud-Din Jabbar, who told him he had gotten a job and was moving to Louisiana. The neighbor said he was under the impression Shamsud-Din Jabbar had gotten another job in IT,” the report explained.
The neighbor said he was shocked on learning Shamsud Din Jabbar was suspected of the mass murder in New Orleans.
Authorities have said Shamsud Din Jabbar drove a rented pickup carrying an ISIS flag into a crowed of New York revelers early Wednesday morning.

]]>A report at the Gateway Pundit documents the intersections that may have occurred between Shamsud Din Jabbar, 42, who rented a Ford pickup truck and drove it through a New Orleans crowd, killing 15 and injuring dozens, and Matthew Livelsberger, 37, of Colorado Springs, who detonated a rented Tesla truck in Las Vegas, killing himself and injuring a handful of passersby.

In addition to both terrorists having military careers, they also both rented their trucks from the Turo app, the report said.
Tony Kovaleski, a reporter for Denver’s Channel 7, said, “Sources also confirming Livelsberger served at the same military base as the terrorist responsible for the attack in New Orleans and authorities are investigating a possible connection between the two men.”
The New Orleans attack involved a truck being through a Bourbon Street crowd, leaving behind 15 dead and dozens with injuries. The driver died when he jumped out of the truck and started shooting at people, and police returned fire.
In the Las Vegas violence, reports say the vehicle’s bed contained a combination of fireworks, gas tanks, and camping fuel, and the truck exploded when it apparently was triggered by the driver, who died.
An ISIS flag was found at the scene of the New Orleans attack.
Joe Biden said federal law enforcement members are investigating and tracking the incidents and any connections.
Speaking after the Las Vegas blast, he said. “Law enforcement and the intelligence community are investigating this as well, including whether there is any possible connection with the attack in New Orleans.”
He said, “Thus far there is nothing to report on that score for this time.”

On “Sunday Morning Futures” on the Fox News Channel, host Jason Chaffetz quoted Fox News senior congressional correspondent Chad Pergram who said:
“The House absolutely, unequivocally cannot do anything until it elects a speaker, period. This also means that the House cannot certify the results of the Electoral College, making trump the 47th president of the United States on Jan. 6. What happens if the Electoral College isn’t sorted out by Jan. 20? Well, President Biden is done, so he’s gone. The same with Harris. Next in the presidential line of succession is the speaker of the House.
“Well, there’s no speaker, so who becomes the president? If the House is still frittering away time trying to elect a speaker on Jan 20, [president pro tempore of the Senate Chuck] Grassley, likely becomes ‘acting president.’ I write likely because this gets into some serious, extra-constitutional turf. These are unprecedented scenarios. Strange lands never visited in the American political experience.”
U.S. Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., the House Oversight Committee chairman, addressed the concern, saying: “No one ran against Mike Johnson. To this day, and here we are inside a week of the speaker’s vote, there is still not a single declared candidate.
“But as you know, we have five Republicans that won’t commit to voting for Mike Johnson, and he can only lose one or two votes. So I sure hope we don’t repeat this, and I’m strongly encouraging my colleagues and go ahead and elect Mike Johnson, and let’s get started on passing President Trump’s agenda.”

Chaffetz brought up Rep. Andy Harris, chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, who is not necessarily fully committed to Johnson as speaker, and asked if the Republicans can stay united.
“It’s a terrible challenge. We’ve seen it play out over the past two years,” Comer noted. “It was very difficult for Kevin McCarthy, it’s been very difficult for Mike Johnson. It would be very difficult for whomever would be elected speaker of our conference.
“But at the end of the day, the difference between the 119th Congress and the 118th Congress is we’ll have a Republican president, a strong Republican president who’s very popular with Republican congressmen’s constituents back home, and that’s Donald Trump.
“I strongly encourage Donald Trump to to get on the phone with those five or six members who won’t commit to voting for Mike Johnson, because all this is going to do is delay us.
“It’s going to delay the certification of President Trump’s election, it’s going to delay the start of his first hundred days in office which is the most important time frame of his whole presidency. That’s when you get the most done, historically. So I strongly encourage President Trump to get on the phone and try to get everyone united so we can work together as a team and make America great Again.”
Later in the broadcast, U.S. Rep. Brian Mast, the incoming House Foreign Affairs Committee chairman, said: “In the end I think Mike Johnson will be a great speaker, he’s going to be known as the DOGE speaker.”
“I think he’s gonna do a damn good job.”

As the sun sets on the last day of 2024, Americans who did nothing more than attend a political rally four years ago remain in jail. The people who believe abortion is murder, and gather to pray outside a facility that specializes in abortions, remain in jail.
The election of Joe Biden damaged the nation, so much so that reasonable people postulate about the chances for its survival. The 2024 election is overwhelming proof the majority of Americans no longer trust the federal government. The loss of faith in America is a nonpartisan phenomenon.
The danger to the Republic is undeniable. The public reaction to the drones above New Jersey is an excellent example. The public does not believe its government’s tardy explanations. The public is unhappy with its government’s non-response. It is the great China balloon failure all over again.
How can a nation function as a global leader when its leader arbitrarily quits wars, arbitrarily starts new wars and follows up passive balloon-watching by failing to provide an explanation for the aerial excesses of drone operators?
Has American foreign policy in the Middle East inspired the American people, bolstered our allies and frustrated our enemies? No, it has not.
Has the Biden decision to ignore the laws passed by Congress meant to regulate immigration and deny 20 million illegals from taking up residence at the expense of inflation-challenged Americans been a success? No it has not.
Has the Democratic Party won the day to bring order to the nation’s cities by electing district attorneys who refuse to enforce local penal codes and federal immigration law? No, it has not.
Not since the Civil War has this nation been so challenged. At least in the Civil War, the federal government acted to keep the nation whole. This time, instead of being an instrument of preservation and equal protection before the law, the federal government has adopted the role of oppressor. In doing so the government has become a law breaker, not a law maker.
Donald Trump’s task then, is to fight off a socialist dictatorship riding into our future on a horse called “Woke,” and to do so without allowing the mob to tear the American red, white and blue tapestry apart.
A hint of what the Democratic Party has become, and the battle Donald Trump faces, came Dec. 24 in the midst of an interview by Tucker Carlson of Teamster President Sean O’Brien. O’Brien detailed the Teamsters’ efforts to interview all the candidates for president.
He said Kamala Harris initially refused to do a sit down with the nation’s largest union. Then, she refused to answer the basic 16 questions put to all the candidates, Republican and Democrat. O’Brien recounted what transpired to Carlson:
“Rank-and-file members are asking our questions just like they asked every other candidate and [the Harris campaign was] trying to negotiate with us. She only wants to answer three questions. We’re like, there are 16 questions here. So she answers three of them. And on the fourth question, one of her operatives or one of her staff puts in front of me. ‘This will be the last question.’
“And her declaration on the way out was, I am going to win with you or without you.”
That explains why working men and women broke with the Democratic Party. O’Brien’s reaction was classic. “Who does this f—- lady think she is?” Trump, he said, came and answered the labor union’s questions. Then he went to the lobby and held a press conference with the union’s representatives. Harris declined to do the same and marched off to meet her destiny.
Kamala Harris is the perfect expression of DEI. Her performance, and her attitude, infests the thinking of many under-educated Americans in public office. The most often-heard complaint in offices today is that DEI dictators are impossible to work with or for.
They are always right. They know more than God, more than history, and the brilliance of their enlightenment alone is supposed to direct you into submission.
With that attitude, how are we going to get along? These are closed-minded, angry people. They write their own disciplinary rules.
America needs to rid itself of DEI, and that means denying its followers the authority to boss around civilized society.
That is an urgent task of 2025.

(WND)—The word “shibboleth” in English has come to mean a word or phrase that insiders know and use but that outsiders do not. For the last few decades, leftists have been rolling out new shibboleths like Apple rolls out iPhones.
They redefined gay marriage as “marriage equality,” abortion rights as “reproductive rights,” and the sexual mutilation of children as “gender affirming care.”
In their most effective gambit, when temperatures started to flatline two decades ago, their alchemists converted “global warming” into “climate change.”
In so doing, they gave school children a whole new range of climate horrors to spice up their nightmares. Creating anxiety was in the game plan.
The Left stepped up their game in 2020. In the months before the election, their media routinely passed off violent riots as “mostly peaceful protests” and election integrity as “voter suppression.”
In the two months after the election, they launched a veritable shibboleth blitzkrieg, forcing the “big lie” and “free and fair election” down the throats of anyone desiring membership in the respectable kids’ club.
On Jan. 6, 2021, the master craftsmen at the shibboleth workshop outdid themselves. They introduced a new catchphrase and made it mandatory by day’s end.
In her indispensable book, “January 6,” Julie Kelly does a thorough job explaining how quickly “insurrection” emerged as the word of the day throughout the media and Democratic Party ranks.
Less than 90 minutes after the first bicycle rack fell, Rep. Ted Deutch tweeted, “This is a violent insurrection. An attempted coup by Trump supporters at his encouragement.”
At 4 p.m., Joe Biden gave the word his blessing. “It’s not protest,” he said. “It’s insurrection.”
Before the day was through, certain Republicans rushed to the nearest mic to prove their respectability. Said Sen. Mitt Romney, “What happened here today was an insurrection, incited by the president of the United States.”
On that same January 6, before the OC gas had yet to settle at the Capitol, George Bush used the imprimatur of the “George W. Bush Presidential Center” to affirm his and wife Laura’s respectability.
“The violent assault on the Capitol – and disruption of a Constitutionally-mandated meeting of Congress – was undertaken by people whose passions have been inflamed by falsehoods and false hopes,” said Bush, speaking for himself and Laura.
Lest anyone be confused about where Bush stood, his remarks were headlined, “Statement by President George W. Bush on Insurrection at the Capitol.”
Bush and Romney might have checked the definition of the word before rushing to use it. Britannica defines “insurrection” as “an organized and usually violent act of revolt or rebellion against an established government or governing authority of a nation-state or other political entity by a group of its citizens or subjects.”
If there was anything “organized” that day, the Feds were the ones doing the organizing. The real protesters were anything but organized. If they had a common mission, it was not to subvert the rule of law but to persuade Congress to honor it.
In the years ahead, leftists and their media allies would have to ignore all evidence to maintain “insurrection” as the term of art.
MAGA America understood what the media refused to, namely that if protesters had intended to “storm the Capitol” – another shibboleth – and stage an “insurrection,” they would have come armed.
They did not. As Ashli Babbitt’s mom, Micki Witthoeft, wryly observed, “The gun-toting populous of the United States showed up that day without guns.”
While still on Fox News, Tucker Carlson pointed out the obvious. “Just to be clear on terms, an insurrection is when people with guns try to overthrow the government,” Carlson said in June 2022.
“Not a single person in the crowd on January 6 was found to be carrying a firearm. Not one.” Honoring their role in the war on truth, the “fact-checkers” rushed into the breach.
“Tucker Carlson Is Wrong,” insisted PolitiFact in its headline. Its minions reviewed hundreds of case files and found “some” protesters who were “charged with having firearms on Capitol grounds while others stashed them nearby.” In other words, no protester brought a gun into the Capitol.
To maintain the illusion of an “armed insurrection,” the media had to expand “armed” to include the “weapons” most often cited in the DOJ’s charging documents, starting with “flagpole” and followed by chemical spray, baton, stick, pocketknife and baseball bat.
The wordsmiths, however, had one major semantic problem to overcome: the only person who fired a gun on January 6 was “the son of a bitch who murdered my daughter.”
Unlike the shibboleth shapers on the Left, Ashli’s mom doesn’t need to mince words.

At the ACLJ website, he explains his family’s priorities for Christmas, what he calls a special time for family.
“But Christmas is also special to our family for another, even more important reason: As Christians, Christmas is a reminder that Light has come into a dark world. The miracle of Christ’s birth in Bethlehem changed the world forever, and I believe that He remains our greatest hope despite the many challenges we face today,” he said.
While Americans have freedom to worship, there are Christians in other nations who don’t.
“Our prayers should begin with Christian communities in Syria. During my time as Secretary of State, we brought to an end the horrific ISIS caliphate that had inflicted unimaginable crimes on Christians across Syria and Iraq, as well as on other religious groups. While the Islamic State’s territorial defeat was a major step, the remnants of its brutal persecution remain, and the fall of Bashar al-Assad is likely to invite even greater persecution of Christians in the country,” he explained.
That’s why, he said, “it is so important for the United States to continue working with Israel, the only truly pluralistic nation in the Middle East that offers full religious freedom.”
He explained, “In the first Trump administration, we prioritized religious freedom because it is deeply tied to global stability, prosperity, and freedom. Pray that Christians in Syria do not suffer further terror and hardship in the coming weeks and months, and pray for our leaders to defend the faithful.”
Next, he said, there are new challenges to religious freedom in Ukraine.
“While at home, Vladimir Putin has cast himself as a righteous defender of Christianity, his Russian military has actively sought to destroy the presence of the church in Ukraine. More than 500 churches have been destroyed or seriously damaged by Russia’s forces since the invasion began in 2022. Orthodox churches loyal to God, rather than to Putin’s regime, have faced closures, their clergy members have been arrested, and their worshipers have been intimidated,” he warned.
And he’s jailed “Protestant and Russian Orthodox clergy alike,” he said.
Then Pompeo said, there’s China.
There, “the suppression of religious expression has reached levels not previously imagined,” he said.
“The Chinese government has detained more than a million Uyghur Muslims in the largest concentration camps ever built. Simultaneously, Christian churches of all denominations face increasing restrictions.”
And the Chinese Communist Party allows only bishops “faithful to the communist regime” to be appointed.
“Many Protestant churches face the removal of crosses, demolition, and the forced integration of Communist Party propaganda into Scripture,” he said. “These actions amount to a deep, systematic effort to ultimately destroy religious freedom.”
Open Doors has reported that more than 365 million Christians in the world, that is one in seven, face high levels of persecution for their faith today.
The group’s World Watch List cites at least 50 nations where it is dangerous for Christians to live.

]]>What’s amazing about human prophecies is how often they end up being incorrect.
Many years ago, at the beginning of a new year, I asked an adult Sunday school class attended by about 60 people or so to write down a prediction of something that would take place that particular year. I too wrote something down. At the end of the year, I then asked everyone to review what they had written down to see if any of them had predicted anything that actually happened. And there was no one who prophesied something that took place. No, not one. Including me.
Have you ever noticed how often the “experts” get it wrong? For example, consider these “prophecies” made by various people:
But in contrast to all this, the Old Testament – which the Jews call the Hebrew Bible – contains many prophecies which Jesus Christ fulfilled. That includes promises that touch on the original Christmas. When you look at the Old Testament, we see different statements about the coming one who will be the Savior.
A holiday favorite is Handel’s “Messiah.” This beautiful concert, first performed in 1742, resonates with many hearers, and it has throughout the ages. The fascinating thing about “Messiah” is that all the lyrics are Scripture. They all point to Jesus as the Christ, meaning “The Anointed One” – ultimately the Messiah.
Joel Woodruff of the C.S. Lewis Institute says this about Handel’s “Messiah”: “The libretto includes 81 Bible verses from 14 different books of the Bible, with the most coming from the book of Isaiah (21 verses).” 46 verses come from the Old Testament, while 35 come from the New. The Old Testament was completed c. 400 BC. 21 of the prophecies about Jesus in “Messiah” come from Isaiah, which was written about 700 to 750 years before Jesus.
Former skeptical journalist (Chicago Tribune) turned pastor and professor, Lee Strobel, once gave an analogy to the detailed predictions of Christ’s suffering and crucifixion in Isaiah 53, written 700 years before the event: “That’s like my trying to predict how the Cubs will do in the year 2693.” (Lee Strobel, “Inside the Mind of Unchurched Harry & Mary,” 1993, p. 36).

Consider just a few examples this Christmas season:
The vast majority of the prophecies about Jesus in the Old Testament focus on His death for our sins. If you have heard “Messiah,” perhaps you remember the stirring choral number, based on this verse, also from Isaiah: “All we like sheep have gone astray. We have turned everyone to his own way. And the Lord hath laid upon him the iniquity of us all.”
There are several reasons I believe the Bible is the Word of God, and fulfilled prophecies is one of those. Only God knows the future. Only God could have written the Bible.
Christmas is a grand miracle. And to think, it was all foretold hundreds of years before it came to pass. Merry Christmas!

]]>By the way, according to the IRS press office, the additional audits have so far raised less than $2 billion, far less than the additional expenditures. So how is this program “paying for itself”?
This was never about seeking tax fairness, as liberals claimed. It was about unleashing an aggressive, permanent and unchecked enforcement assault on U.S. taxpayers to rake in more tax dollars to pay for liberals’ political agenda. The American people voted to end such madness, and the IRS should now act accordingly and immediately by ignoring the Biden administration’s 11th-hour efforts to ram through a slew of costly new rules and regulations as they now head toward the exit.
Progressive leaders made wildly erroneous claims that a supersized IRS would raise nearly $1 trillion over 10 years from stepped-up enforcement against higher-income earners and businesses. And they attempted to justify their proposals by broadly portraying entrepreneurs, small businesses, family-owned private enterprises and the wealthy as tax cheats. The entire exercise was designed to harass lawful taxpayers and threaten them as guilty parties until they could prove themselves innocent.
Fortunately, most voters saw their efforts for what they were: a liberal fantasy grab of other peoples’ money and an attempt to assert greater control over their livelihoods. Democrat leaders did not help themselves by immediately over-steering the car. This included efforts to have the IRS spy on personal bank accounts and require income reporting for basic Venmo payments among friends, as well as punitive measures on those whose incomes are derived from tips or numerous other types of transactions.
Another target for IRS harassment has been business partnerships. Such businesses are one of the most common and practical ways to structure private enterprises of all sizes. A simple analogy might be when one party owns an available tractor and another has available land, and they go into business together to farm the land. All told, there are an estimated 4.5 million business partnerships in America. Collectively, these partnerships generate more than $12 trillion in revenue and employ millions of U.S. workers.
Yet the IRS, before President-elect Donald Trump returns to office, is now stealthily attempting to implement new rules that threaten the future viability of such partnerships. These proposed changes to the tax code impact what is known as “basis shifting” – a routine and legal practice that business partners use to adjust the tax basis of their respective assets. In short, the proposed rules would deliberately embed uncertainty and subjective IRS interpretations of how taxable assets are treated when one transfers or sells their interest in a business partnership. Basically, the opposite of tax fairness.
Meanwhile, the multibillion-dollar bounty the Biden administration claimed their newly armed IRS would secure through added enforcement and new tax rules has completely failed to materialize. The IRS recently disclosed that just $1 billion had been recovered since their aggressive campaign went into effect two years ago, and there is no way of knowing if that would have occurred with or without it. How ironic and sad is it for taxpayers to learn that the vast amount of the $80 billion Democrats awarded to the IRS to recover or find new “savings” is instead on pace to serve as a massive cost to the U.S. Treasury?
The last thing voters now want is for the IRS to impose any more costly last-minute tax changes that will make problems even worse for taxpayers, workers and employers. Accordingly, the Biden team and the IRS should put down their pencils. And if they persist with these fourth-quarter rule changes, the Trump team should be prepared to immediately repeal them in January.
