U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has arrested an alleged Haitian sex criminal in the sanctuary city of Boston, Massachusetts. The migrant, identified as Jefferson Jerome, was arraigned on charges of assault and battery on a person over 14 years of age on September 11 but released by the Dorchester District Court ahead of a trial. ICE detained him at the courthouse once he was out of from state custody.
“Jefferson Jerome stands accused of a horrific crime against a resident of our Massachusetts community,” said an ICE spokesman. The agency, which Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris has compared to the Ku Klux Klan, reports that Jerome is a repeat illegal border crosser. He was detained and returned to Mexico by the U.S. Border Patrol in 2021 but returned in late 2022. This time, he was released into the country by Biden-Harris officials with a notice to appear before an immigration judge at a later date.
Hundreds of thousands of migrants in Jerome’s situation have been granted a de facto amnesty under the Biden-Harris government, with over 350,000 asylum cases being terminated “without a decision on the merits of their asylum claim.” While this does not preclude deportation at a later date, it renders removal unlikely, given it resets the yearslong process of securing and executing a deportation order.
Jerome is far from the only Haitian accused of serious crimes in Massachusetts.
