The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), which seeks to overthrow the country’s Islamist regime, held a press conference in Washington, DC in which it disclosed what it described as new findings about the Iranian nuclear program.

“The Iranian regime is covertly working on the weaponization aspect of its nuclear project to build a warhead, effectively obstructing verification through deceit,” said Soona Samsami, a representative for NCRI in the US.

According to NCRI, the regime has ramped up activity in the Center for Research and Expansion of Technologies on Explosions and Impact (METFAZ), which is part of the country’s bomb-making operation, the Organization for Advanced Defense Research (SPND). The dissident group contends that the regime has intensified research on manufacturing devices to enable nuclear detonation.

Alireza Jafarzadeh, deputy director of the NCRI’s US Office, detailed the group’s findings, which it said were based on extensive research and reports from dissident networks inside Iran. […]

‘Arrow of Bashan’: Israel Destroys Most of Syria’s Strategic Weapons https://uncanceled.news/arrow-of-bashan-israel-destroys-most-of-syrias-strategic-weapons/ https://uncanceled.news/arrow-of-bashan-israel-destroys-most-of-syrias-strategic-weapons/#respond Fri, 13 Dec 2024 13:07:08 +0000 https://uncanceled.news/arrow-of-bashan-israel-destroys-most-of-syrias-strategic-weapons/ Israel struck most of Syria’s strategic weapons arsenal since the ouster of President Bashar Assad, the IDF announced on Tuesday night, preventing them from falling into the hands of Islamic terrorists.

The military confirmed earlier reports that the Israeli Air Force conducted more than 350 aerial strikes, with hundreds of hours of flight time logged over Syrian airspace. The targets included anti-aircraft batteries, Syrian Air Force airfields, and dozens of weapons production sites in Damascus, Homs, Tartus, Latakia, and Palmyra.

Strategic weapons were neutralized, including Scud tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, surface-to-sea, surface-to-air and surface-to-surface missiles, drones, fighter jets, attack helicopters, radar systems, tanks, and hangars.

The IDF has named the large-scale operation “Arrow of Bashan.”

On Monday night, Israeli Navy missile ships attacked two Syrian Navy facilities simultaneously: Al-Bayda Port and Latakia Port, where 15 Syrian naval vessels were docked. […]

Wikipedia’s Quiet Revolution: How a Coordinated Group of Editors Reshaped the Israeli-Palestinian Narrative https://uncanceled.news/wikipedias-quiet-revolution-how-a-coordinated-group-of-editors-reshaped-the-israeli-palestinian-narrative/ https://uncanceled.news/wikipedias-quiet-revolution-how-a-coordinated-group-of-editors-reshaped-the-israeli-palestinian-narrative/#respond Thu, 05 Dec 2024 12:10:40 +0000 https://uncanceled.news/wikipedias-quiet-revolution-how-a-coordinated-group-of-editors-reshaped-the-israeli-palestinian-narrative/ In an era dominated by search engines and instant information, Wikipedia holds an outsized influence. For millions of users, it is often the first — and sometimes the only — source of information on global events and historical contexts. Yet, as investigative journalist Ashley Rindsberg revealed in an explosive report, a quiet yet coordinated operation has taken root among the online encyclopedia’s editors, monumentally reshaping the way the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is perceived.

In a conversation with The Algemeiner this week, Rindsberg asserted that the campaign has “actually changed what appears to be the face of not just the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, but of the entire justification for Israel’s right to exist and legitimacy, which is the real aim.”

In a detailed exposé published by the American media company Pirate Wires in October, Rindsberg outlined a coalition of approximately 40 Wikipedia editors that has systematically altered thousands of articles to tilt public opinion against Israel. These individuals, acting in concert, have executed around 850,000 edits on nearly 10,000 articles on the conflict, Rindsberg said, subtly shifting the ideological foundation of content related to Israel, the Palestinians, and even broader Middle Eastern geopolitics.

Ideological Subversion at Scale

“What we’ve seen with the Palestine-Israel articles topic area on Wikipedia is a wholesale shift in the ideological underpinning of those articles,” Rindsberg said.

The report cited one prominent example: […]

Nearly Half of Incoming US Senate Democratic Leadership Just Voted to Block Arms to Israel https://uncanceled.news/nearly-half-of-incoming-us-senate-democratic-leadership-just-voted-to-block-arms-to-israel/ https://uncanceled.news/nearly-half-of-incoming-us-senate-democratic-leadership-just-voted-to-block-arms-to-israel/#respond Thu, 05 Dec 2024 10:45:12 +0000 https://uncanceled.news/nearly-half-of-incoming-us-senate-democratic-leadership-just-voted-to-block-arms-to-israel/ A near-majority of the Democratic Party’s incoming leadership in the US Senate recently voted in favor of a partial arms embargo on Israel, fueling concerns that America’s primary center-left political party is increasingly distancing itself from the Jewish state.

On Tuesday, Senate Democrats announced their new 11-member leadership team for the 119th session of the US Congress, which will begin next month. Sen. Chuck Schumer (NY) will continue to lead Democrats in the upper legislative chamber, but this time soon as the minority party. Meanwhile, Sen. Amy Klobuchar (MN) elevated to the No. 3 spot as the chair of the Steering and Policy Committee and Sen. Cory Booker (NJ) moved to the No. 4 spot as chair of the Strategic Communications Committee.

Other members of the leadership team include: Sen. Mark Warner (VA) as co-vice chair of the conference, Sen. Tammy Baldwin (WI) as conference secretary, and Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (NV) as vice chair of outreach.

The other five newly elected members of Democratic leadership, or 45 percent of the group, voted last month in support of each of three separate resolutions aimed at depriving Israel of weapons amid its ongoing war against Hamas in Gaza. The lawmakers are Sens. Dick Durbin (IL), party whip; Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), co-vice chair of the conference; Bernie Sanders (VT), an independent who caucuses with Democrats and will be chair of outreach; and Chris Murphy (CT) and Brian Schatz (D-HI), both deputy conference secretaries.

All five senators voted for measures to ban the sale of tank cartridges to Israel and target sales of mortar rounds and precision-guided bombs to the Jewish state. […]

The Old Jewish Cemetery of Baghdad: A Forgotten Chapter in Iraq’s History https://uncanceled.news/the-old-jewish-cemetery-of-baghdad-a-forgotten-chapter-in-iraqs-history/ https://uncanceled.news/the-old-jewish-cemetery-of-baghdad-a-forgotten-chapter-in-iraqs-history/#respond Wed, 04 Dec 2024 10:08:25 +0000 https://uncanceled.news/the-old-jewish-cemetery-of-baghdad-a-forgotten-chapter-in-iraqs-history/ The old Jewish cemetery in Baghdad, a relic of a once-thriving Jewish community, holds the stories of generations who contributed to Iraq’s social, cultural, and economic fabric. It was more than a burial ground — it symbolized the deep roots of Jewish life in Baghdad, once home to one of the most vibrant Jewish communities in the Arab world.

A Historical Overview: From Jerusalem to Babylon

The Jewish presence in Mesopotamia dates back more than 2,500 years, beginning with the Babylonian exile in 586 BCE. After the destruction of the First Temple by King Nebuchadnezzar, exiled Jews settled in Babylon, adapting to their new circumstances while preserving their traditions. This period gave rise to the Babylonian Talmud, a cornerstone of Jewish scholarship.

By the time Arab armies conquered Mesopotamia, Jewish life was deeply entrenched in the region.

Baghdad, strategically located on the Tigris River, became a hub for trade and culture, attracting Jewish merchants, artisans, and scholars. Over the centuries, the Jewish community contributed significantly to Baghdad’s golden age, cementing its place as a vital part of the city’s identity.

The Jewish Cemetery: A Sacred Landmark

In the 19th century, Baghdad’s growing Jewish population established a cemetery in the Bab al-Sharqi district. This sacred space became a repository of memory, where Hebrew and Judeo-Arabic epitaphs told the stories of the departed. The cemetery symbolized the resilience of a community that, despite persecution, thrived and enriched Baghdad’s cultural and economic landscape. […]

Iran’s President Calls on Pope Francis to Use Influence to Stop War in Middle East https://uncanceled.news/irans-president-calls-on-pope-francis-to-use-influence-to-stop-war-in-middle-east/ https://uncanceled.news/irans-president-calls-on-pope-francis-to-use-influence-to-stop-war-in-middle-east/#respond Thu, 21 Nov 2024 12:51:34 +0000 https://uncanceled.news/irans-president-calls-on-pope-francis-to-use-influence-to-stop-war-in-middle-east/ Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian called on Pope Francis to use his influence with Christian governments to stop war in the Middle East, semi-official Fars news agency reported on Wednesday.

“Encourage world leaders, especially Christian governments, to prevent the continuation of aggressions made by the criminal Israeli regime,” Pezeshkian said, in what Fars described as a message to the Pope.

The message was delivered by an Iranian delegation participating in a religious dialogue event held in the Vatican, Iran’s government website said.

Tehran and the Holy See have enjoyed formal diplomatic relations since 1954, and Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in 2022 shared a message to Pope Francis lauding his “stances on consolidating relations between Islam and Christianity.”

Last week, Pope Francis suggested the global community should study whether Israel’s military campaign in Gaza constituted a genocide of the Palestinian people, in some of his most explicit criticism yet of Israel’s conduct in its year-long war. […]

Pro-Hamas Groups Planting Seeds of Domestic Terrorism in US, New Report Says https://uncanceled.news/pro-hamas-groups-planting-seeds-of-domestic-terrorism-in-us-new-report-says/ https://uncanceled.news/pro-hamas-groups-planting-seeds-of-domestic-terrorism-in-us-new-report-says/#respond Sat, 16 Nov 2024 10:48:53 +0000 https://uncanceled.news/pro-hamas-groups-planting-seeds-of-domestic-terrorism-in-us-new-report-says/ Domestic terrorism may be the end game for the over 150 pro-Hamas groups operating on colleges campuses and elsewhere across the US to foster anti-Israel demonstrations, according to a new report by the Capital Research Center (CRC) think tank.

“The movement contains militant elements pushing it toward a wider, more severe campaign focused on property destruction and violence properly described as domestic terrorism,” researcher Ryan Mauro wrote in the report, titled “Marching Toward Violence: The Domestic Anti-Israeli Protest Movement,” which was published last week. “It demands the ‘dismantlement’ of America’s ‘colonialist,’ ‘imperialist,’ or ‘capitalist,’ system, often calling for the US to be abolished as a country.”

He continued, “These revolutionary goals are held by the two different factions of the anti-Israel extremist groups. The first faction combines Islamists, communists/Marxists, and anarchists. The second faction consists of groups with white supremacist/nationalist ideologies. They share Jew-hatred, anti-Americanism, and the goal of sparking a revolutionary uprising.”

The group that is most responsible for the anti-Israel protest movement is Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), according to the report.

Drawing on statements issued and actions taken by SJP and their collaborators, Mauro made the case that toolkits published by SJP herald Hamas for perpetrating mass casualties of civilians; SJP has endorsed Iran’s attacks on Israel as well as its stated intention to overturn the US-led world order; and other groups under its umbrella have called on followers to “Bring the Intifada Home.” Such activities, the report explained, accelerated after Hamas’s massacre across southern Israel last Oct. 7, which pro-Hamas groups perceived as an inflection point in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and an opportunity. By flooding the internet and college campuses with agitprop and staging activities — protests or vandalisms — they hoped to manufacture a critical mass of youth support for their ideas, thus creating an army of revolutionaries willing to adopt Hamas’s aims as their own. Why Are Canadian Children Forced to Protest Israel Against Their Will? https://uncanceled.news/why-are-canadian-children-forced-to-protest-israel-against-their-will/ https://uncanceled.news/why-are-canadian-children-forced-to-protest-israel-against-their-will/#respond Tue, 01 Oct 2024 11:37:49 +0000 https://uncanceled.news/why-are-canadian-children-forced-to-protest-israel-against-their-will/ Canada prides itself on being a big tent nation — a place where bilingualism and multiculturalism are official government policy, and diversity is our greatest strength.

According to the country’s mythology, when Canadians disagree, they come up with practical solutions, resolve their differences peacefully, and are better off for it.

Canada’s commitment to inclusion is so deeply ingrained that in a 2015 debate with then-prime minister Stephen Harper, Justin Trudeau famously responded to Harper’s suggestion that revocation of citizenship might be justified in the case of a convicted terrorist by saying, “a Canadian is a Canadian is a Canadian.”

It was one of many one-liners that helped Trudeau become prime minister that year, and hang onto the job for the next nine and counting.

But while convicted terrorists may take comfort in their prime minister’s promise of unconditional kinship, Canada’s Jews are feeling increasingly unwelcome in their own country.

The latest outrage came from the Toronto District School Board (TDSB), which is responsible for educating roughly 238,000 children and another 100,000 “life-long learners” through adult and continuing education programs. […]
