The majority of likely voters blame Vice President Kamala Harris for the massive problems of illegal immigration and border security that have been rampant since she and Joe Biden took the White House in 2021, according to a new poll.
The New York Times/Siena poll of likely voters recorded that when likely voters were asked “How much blame, if any, do you think Kamala Harris as sitting vice president should receive for … problems at the border?” 63 percent of likely voters said Harris should receive “a lot of blame” or “some blame” in regarding the problems on the border.
Within the first few months of the Biden-Harris administration, Biden appointed Harris to deal with border security and the “root causes” of immigration. Specifically, with “stemming the movement of so many folks, stemming the migration to our southern border.” After her appointment to the task, outlets referred to her as the “border czar.” By June of 2021, only a few months after that appointment, her office was denying her responsibility for that mission.
After being dubbed the border czar by many different media organizations at the time, and now running for President, the Harris camp has tried to distance her from the moniker. She has also tried to present herself as being hard on crime at the border as well as being tough on border security. […]
